Sand Lake Conservation Camp

Sand Lake Conservation Camp

Green Bay Trout Unlimited provides full sponsorship to students that are attending grades 6, 7, and 8 in the fall and have an interest in the outdoors.  We concentrate on sponsoring Brown and Door County students.  However, both Wisconsin and Upper Michigan residents are welcome to attend the camp as well.

Our camp takes place at Camp Bird Youth Camp in Marinette County, Wisconsin.  The camp is situated on scenic 20-acre Sand Lake with its sandy swimming beach, dock, canoes, stream and lake access, hiking trails, nature center, and log cabins.

We have the facilities that are essential to the best outdoor experience.  For convenience, the camp has full kitchen facilities, showers, flush toilets, and electricity.

Sand Lake Conservation Camp is located:

Space is limited and registrations are taken on a first-come first-served basis.

We provide a positive educational outdoor experiences for campers. Our goals include fostering an appreciation and understanding of nature as well as introducing the youth to a variety of career opportunities in the natural resources and conservation areas.  Read More about the camp on Marinette County’s website.

Professionals from various natural resource and conservation agencies present programs on topics like wildlife, habitat, ecosystems, water quality, fisheries, forestry, orienteering, and canoeing.  These professionals, as well as adult volunteers, serve as overnight staff and group leaders for the duration of camp.

For the safety of your children, the camp does background checks on all staff.
