On Saturday, June 20th Green Bay Trout Unlimited will be holding our second work project of the season. We will be brushing a stretch of the Upper South Branch Oconto River.

On July 20th, 15 workers ventured to the upper North Branch of the Oconto River to continue work from two years prior with Tom Moris of the U.S. Forest Service. Brush bundles and woody trout covers were installed.

2013-Jun-15 1st S. Branch Oconto

On June 15th 2013, the Chapter finished stream rock placement began in May. The rock repaired old trout habitat bank cover structures which GBTU helped install ~1981.

2013-May-8 Floy Tagging

On May 8th 2013, chapter members assisted the DNR in floy-tagging 1,000 brown trout that ranged from 10-16 inches in length. The tagged fish were then released into the lower Oconto river.
