On March 25th & 26th of 2017 from 10am – 2pm, Green Bay Trout Unlimited ( GBTU ), Oconto River Trout Unlimited ( ORTU ), Marinette Trout Unlimited ( MTU ) and Cabela’s held their 3rd Community Outreach event during the non-summer seasons.
On Saturday, folks started to stop by en masse, after 10:15 am. We had all tyers busy and there was hardly time to catch lunch.
Sunday was much slower than usual, and we really no idea why the crowds were off. The rainy day did not prove well for folks moving inside to tie some flies.
With that said, we still had many youth show up and try their hand and several different patterns.
From the ORTU, we had Wayne Czypinski and Bob Obma. From MTU, we had a short, but efficient, visit from our new Northeast Wisconsin Regional VP Doug Erdmann. From GBTU, was Jerry Schwan, John Rybski, Al Jamir, Jose Diaz and Mike Renish.
Brian Mease, from Cabela’s, also joined us on Sunday to tie his famous Turkey Leech.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved; especially Cabela’s for hosting us, feeding us and allowing us to purchase good stuff from their store at an employee discount.
