GBTU, the PALS Program, the Izaak Walton League, Thrivent Financial, Festival Foods and the Green Bay exchange club joined forces to help 65-70 Brown County Kids enjoy an afternoon of fishing, food and fun.

Edison Middle School fly clinic

GBTU member, Dave Ostanek, led an outdoor pursuits class at Edison Middle School this summer. With the help of a couple GBTU volunteers he excited dozens of next generation trout fishermen/women.

GBTU, kids, fly tying and fishing!

On Saturday June 27th and Sunday 28th a pair of GBTU members, Dan Simmons and Adrian Meseberg, plus three more volunteers, teamed to up to teach ~ a dozen Green Bay area youth fly tying and fishing.

Brushing on S. Br. Oconto June 20th

We completed our second work project, clearing tag Alders and brush bundling on the South Branch of the Oconto June 20th, with only a light rain falling toward the end the morning.

Fix This Budget Now committee is holding a rally on the Fox river Trail on Tuesday May 26 at 5 pm. It begins at Voyageur Park and end at the Allouez Boat Landing behind Dairy Queen.

GBTU Starts Work Project Season

On Thursday, May 21st Green Bay Trout Unlimited started the work project season by painting the covered bridge by our education trail on Haller's Creek.

NEW Zoo Covered Bridge Trail Head Sign

The NEW Zoo Covered Bridge Trout Stream Educational Trail Head was installed by Jim Vanden Branden, Jack and Arlene Koivisto on April 12th with some beautiful weather cooperating.

Walker’s budget bad for WI conservation

The BCCA was alarmed to learn of Gov. Scott Walker's proposals to eliminate citizen oversight of the Department of Natural Resources by the current Natural Resource Board, the cutting of DNR scientists and placing a moratorium on Stewardship Funds until 2028.

March fly tying at Cabelas

On March 14th and 15th from 11am to 2-pm, Brian Mease, Adrian Meseberg, Dave Ostanek, Paul Kruse, Dori Goddard, Alan Jamir and Mike Renish hosted the second 2015 fly tying clinic at Cabelas in Green Bay.

2015-Jan-17th Cabelas Community Outreach

On January 17th and 18th, Green Bay Trout Unlimited and Cabelas, held a community outreach fly tying event. Over the two days, we had about 2 dozen customers and tied up approximately 50 flies.

At the latest Lake Michigan Fisheries Forum (LMFF) meeting in September 2014, the WDNR asked Lake Michigan stakeholders what were their most important concerns regarding the big lake.

2014-Jul-9 Kids Fishing Day

For the 23rd year, Green Bay Trout Unlimited participated in the sponsoring the Kids Fishing Event at the Izaak Walton Environmental Center ponds and shelter. Around 70 kids showed up this year !

Hemlock Springs Arial View

2014-Jun-4 Dredging of Hemlock Springs

On June 4th, the WDNR launched " the Dredge " into Hemlock Spring Pond. These ponds were created by the last glacier and the original ponds were much deeper and colder.
