Feb 15: 48th Conservation Banquet

Our premier fundraiser is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see you there !!

If you have ever been to our banquets, you know just how amazing they are. If you haven’t ever been to one, just ask anyone who has.

Our event features affordable tickets ($45/person, $315/table of eight, various sponsorship levels) that include your meal. Sponsors get recognized in our program, on table place-mats, and on our website (if received prior to Jan 30th for printing). Our banquet is fast-paced, having prize opportunities every 5-10 minutes following dinner. This ensures everyone has non-stop excitement while still going home at a good time. Most of our prizes are top-of-the-line.

Live Auction:

SESSION 1

1. The Fly Fisherman, Terrance Patterson. Sculpture by Jerome Mose and the Terrance Patterson Gallery LTD.  Terrance Patterson was famous for the military figurine sculptures he made during his lifetime.  Terrance passed away in 1991, and as a memorial, this sculpture was created by Jerome Mose, a Navajo artist and employee of the Gallery.  It is made with the same process as all Patterson statues, with hydrocal (gypsum cement) and covered in bronze tone patina.  A limited number of these were made in 1993 and sold for $200.  Information is provided in  a letter from his son Todd who operates the Gallery in Colorado Springs.  Terrance was an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman.  This item has an interesting background, so please give it a nice bid.  Donated by Matt Norem.

2. Pheasant Hunt at J & H Game Farm near Navarino.  10-bird, half day pheasant hunt for up to 4 people.  This game farm has 5 different natural areas to choose from (open sorghum field or brush cover).  This farm is located 28 miles west of Green Bay. Does not include a hunting dog but one is available w/handler for $75.  This item includes lunch.  The hunting Certificate good from 10/01/2024 to 3/09/2025.  Donated by J & H Game Farm.

3. Guided Trout Fishing in Central Wisconsin.   A half day of guided trout fishing for one or two people during the 2024 inland trout season.  Pick one of the many brown and brook trout streams located in the “Central Sands” of the state, such as the Tomorrow River/ Waupaca River.  Book your trip early.  You’ll need a Trout Stamp and your fishing gear.  This trip is donated by Fall Line Outfitters & Fly-Fishing Shop of Stevens Point.  

4. Woodfire Sporting Clay Package for 4 people.  This is a great package for a business ‘Team Building’ outing, family outing, or a group of friends.  Includes everything but the gun.  Half-day of shooting clays for 4 people at Woodfire Lodge located near Brillion, 20 miles south of Green Bay.  Package includes a 75-bird flurry (5 stand), 50 targets per person (clay course).  Includes ear plugs, safety glasses, 3 boxes of shotgun shells per person.  After shooting, the package includes 1 hour of pizza and domestic beer pitchers.  Donated by Doug Seidl and Lee Meyers.

SESSION 2

5.  Pheasant hunt at Woodfire Lodge and Game Farm:   Woodfire Hunting Preserve & Lodge provides a half day hunt for 10 Pheasants.   Bring your own hunting gear.  Woodfire is a 500-acre state licensed hunting preserve that provides a premier hunting experience.  It is located 20 miles south of Green Bay near Brillion.  This certificate is for the hunting season, 9/15/24 to 3/31/25.  As a bonus, Bruce Deadman includes the use of his hunting dog, Carson.  And Bruce comes along with this package deal.  Donated by Woodfire Lodge and Bruce Deadman.

6.  Brook Trout Carving by Allan Lemke.    Al is here tonight.  Al has been carving wildlife for over 25 years and has donated many of his carvings to Trout Unlimited fundraisers.  Last year Al donated a beautiful carving of a cutthroat trout.   This year we have a beautiful brook trout, the true native trout species of Wisconsin.  Please give a generous bid on this beautiful carving.

7.  Instructional Sporting Clays shooting at J & H Game Farm.   For 2 to 4 people, ranging in experience from the novice to the veteran shooter.  Novices can learn to handle a gun and shoot moving targets.  And the veteran shooter can get tips from an Expert.  Up to 4 hours of sporting clay shooting (women, Co-ed groups encouraged).  This is a great opportunity for an introduction to shooting, or to improve your shooting skills.  Instruction by Paula Benbow (15-time State Champion) and John Krumrey.   Paula and John are WI Sporting Clay Hall of Fame and All-American Team Members.  Includes the cost of ammo.  All shooting equipment is available at the Range, including a loner gun.  Paula Benbow and John Krumrey are here tonight.

8. Guided Walleye Fishing on Bay of Green Bay with Brockin’ and Reelin’ Guide Service.  For 1 to 3 people, enjoy a ride on a 22’ Crestliner boat and fishing a “World Class” walleye fishery.  Launch off the west shore of Green Bay with Brock Kangas, U.S. Coast Guard certified Charter Captain.   All fishing equipment is included, just bring your fishing license and refreshments.  The Certificate is good for the entire 2024 open water season.   Donated by Captain Brock Kangas, Brockin’ & Reelin’ Guide Service.
