Mar 6: 2024-25 Guest Speaker #4
Article written on 2025-02-26 by: Adrian Meseberg

For our March special guest speaker meeting, we will be joined by Mike Tiboris of the River Alliance of Wisconsin (RAW). GBTU has budgeted a line item for RAW for at least the past 10 years. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the great work being done by the River Alliance. Work that we have long supported 🙂
Below is a summary of Mike’s presentation:
“For over 30 years, the River Alliance of Wisconsin has empowered local groups to protect and restore their water. Dr. Tiboris will provide an overview of how they support and expand the influence of local watershed groups (like yours!). He will share some of the projects RAW staff are currently working on, which include dam removal, PFAS mitigation, wild rice restoration, mining, watershed planning, and addressing agricultural contamination. We can also discuss the policy challenges and opportunities for water protection in Wisconsin over the next few years.”
Check out Mike’s bio below:
“Dr. Michael Tiboris serves as the Agriculture and Water Policy Director at the River Alliance of Wisconsin. He specializes in food and water policy and has extensive experience in policy research and development, working with think tanks, universities, and large government research projects focused on agricultural sustainability. His written work on water policy and governance is widely published in peer-reviewed academic journals, law reviews, policy reports, and popular media sources. Dr. Tiboris also teaches courses on water governance at the University of Wisconsin’s Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy.”
