June 15 – Work Project #2 Summary & Pics
Article written on 2024-07-05 by: Adrian Meseberg
The following work day summary was provided by the WI DNR’s Jonathan Pyatskowit:
“The June 15, 2024 Trout Unlimited workday was once again a success. Our worksite on the Waupee Creek downstream of Bear Paw Road. This site was in need of fishability brushing to allow anglers to have access to fish that are utilizing habitat that was installed by the USFS. Many of the excellent holding waters were a result of large wood placement in years past. As we opened up these places we were able to see a lot of nice fish during our work as they scooted out of this cover. Approximately 1700’ of stream was brushed and it connected with brushing that was done during the 2023 field season. Combined total is approximately 3000’ of stream. In addition to the in-stream brushing, an angler trail along the bank was also brushed. This site should provide anglers with a nice opportunity to fish a stretch and then utilize the road for an easier walk back to a vehicle. Thanks again to all the TU volunteers that come and help out on these projects.“
