Wisconsin’s trout fishery may be looking at significant changes in the near future. These may include bag/size limits, potentially longer seasons, etc… The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WI DNR), Bradd Sims will be sharing information on this and several other topics.
You won’t want to miss this presentation !
Below is a summary of Bradd’s presentation:
Title: Updates for Wisconsin’s Inland Trout Management
“Bradd will be presenting information two proposed statewide questions appearing on the 2025 Conservation Congress soring heating, updates to the statewide trout classifications, updates on the APHIS contract for beaver management, recent trends in trout stamp sales with proposed district allocations for fiscal year 2026, Upcoming Inland Trout Management Plan and Regulation Reviews, and time permitting an overview of the two online angler diary pilot studies that took place in June/July and October of 2024. Plans are to implement a season wide study in the future.”

“Bradd has worked as a fisheries biologist with the Wisconsin DNR for 26 years. Currently he is the stream and river systems biologist with the bureau of Fisheries Management out of Madison. Prior he spent 23 years as a fisheries biologist out of the Dodgeville office working in the Driftless Area where much of his time was devoted to the management of streams and rivers. When Bradd is not working he is spending time with his wife and two sons enjoying many of natural resources in Southwest Wisconsin.”
