Dec 18: VSP Xmas Ornaments

For the Monday, December 18th, Green Bay Trout Unlimited Veteran’s Service Program our area Vets were treated to a special fly-tying event.

Program chair, Paul Kruse, led the way as participants tied a simplified version of the Silver Doctor. The special twist was that the flies were then placed as displays in Christmas ornaments.

Judging by the laughter, smiles, and “thank you’s” it was easy to see everyone had a wonderful time.

If you are interested in volunteering, or are a veteran looking to for a fun environment to learn about fly-tying/fishing, the GBTU VSP program is free. We meet every other Monday to at the First Presbyterian Church in De Pere to learn fly-tying and to socialize. Multiple fishing trips are scheduled each year. Veteran’s and volunteers do not need to attend every meeting…only when you want to. All experience levels welcome. If you have never tied a fly, or been fly-fishing, this is a very good opportunity to see if it is something you would like.

If you have any questions, please contact VSP Coordinator, Paul Kruse (920) 639-2361 / [email protected].
