On June 21st, Green Bay Trout Unlimited’s 2nd work project of the year was on Spring Creek feeding the Wolf. Three TU Chapters and the WDNR worked Saturday morning on improvements.

On June 4th, the WDNR launched ” the Dredge ” into Hemlock Spring Pond. These ponds were created by the last glacier and the original ponds were much deeper and colder.

On May 17th, 2014, GBTU members embarked on the first work project of the year and cleaned up the Trout Educational Trail across from the NEW Zoo.

On March 1st and 2nd, GBTU and Cabela’s teamed up to hold a fly tying clinic. TU members that helped with the instruction included Paul Kruse, Winston Ostrow, Linn Beck, Bob Obma, Randy Rake, Adrian Meseberg and Mike Renish.

About 40 people attended our awards banquet in December at the Graystone Alehouse in De Pere to enjoy an evening of fun, entertainment and appreciation.

On August 17th, over 35 Trout Unlimited members converged on Ninemile Creek, a tributary of the Wolf River, to clear heavy cover of tag Alders, bundle that brush, and place those bundles to narrow stream channel, increase flow and scour channel itself.

On July 20th, 15 workers ventured to the upper North Branch of the Oconto River to continue work from two years prior with Tom Moris of the U.S. Forest Service. Brush bundles and woody trout covers were installed.

On June 15th 2013, the Chapter finished stream rock placement began in May. The rock repaired old trout habitat bank cover structures which GBTU helped install ~1981.

On May 18th 2013, members from Green Bay and the Oconto River Chapters lead by WI DNR trout habitat expert Cliff Sebero and biologist Chip Long worked on repairing 30 year old habitat structures. In total, 30,000 pounds of rock were placed over a 3-hour period with four refurbished bank covers.
