With very short notice, 8 volunteers showed up to help “scatter-plant” 500 brown trout on Thursday, April 30, just prior for the opening of the trout fishing season on Saturday, May 2.

Wisconsin TU license plates are ON SALE ! The plates feature a native WI brook trout and were designed by Neal Aspinall.

The NEW Zoo Covered Bridge Trout Stream Educational Trail Head was installed by Jim Vanden Branden, Jack and Arlene Koivisto on April 12th with some beautiful weather cooperating.

On Saturday, April 11th Lake Michigan stakeholders including the WDNR, USGS, NOAA, Wisconsin Sea Grant, Salmon Ambassadors, GLFC, charter bat captains, area fishing groups and more gathered together to discuss topics of interest involving Lake Michigan.

On Thursday, May 7th (6:30pm) Green Bay Trout Unlimited held it's 2015 Annual Meeting. Several important votes and decisions were made on this evening.

The BCCA was alarmed to learn of Gov. Scott Walker's proposals to eliminate citizen oversight of the Department of Natural Resources by the current Natural Resource Board, the cutting of DNR scientists and placing a moratorium on Stewardship Funds until 2028.

On Thursday, February 19th Green Bay Trout Unlimited (GBTU) held it's 40th annual conservation banquet at the Stadium View Bar and Grill in Green Bay, WI.

On January 17th and 18th, Green Bay Trout Unlimited and Cabelas, held a community outreach fly tying event. Over the two days, we had about 2 dozen customers and tied up approximately 50 flies.

At the latest Lake Michigan Fisheries Forum (LMFF) meeting in September 2014, the WDNR asked Lake Michigan stakeholders what were their most important concerns regarding the big lake.

As the temperature of the Wolf River rises, the trout move into the colder tributaries. One of the main ones is the Evergreen River (Creek) in Langlade County which we fished today.

Our 3rd work project of the summer on July 19th, 2014 was on the upper North Branch Oconto River where we bundled brush, narrowed channels and reconstructed banks. This 500 foot section that we improved was upstream of prior years work.
